when i watched this for the first time i forgot to turn the speakers on for the first 6 seconds and i just see the forest start to burn. How do you think of ideas like this? When I saw this i was thinking drugs were a major part of the production. Still it was a great video. By the way, I know it says on the FAQ not to send you Charlie the Unicorn videos, but I want to make a “updated” version of them. I will not tell you how i updated it or when It will be done, but i will show you when it is done. Are you OK with that or would you not. I will show you a preview of what i mean if you say it’s OK. This is perhaps the most deeply troubling and life-threatening video you’ve made to date. I love it.
This was by no means your best video ever. The style and skill of the dialogue just wasnt what I’ve come to expect from Jason Steele, and I feel the same way about the “taft” video. The Cloak, Charlie the Unicorn (definitely not unicron), Lamas with Hats, and Spatula Madness videos are your best animations.
I do say that this video was rather good. When I told my turkeys they went wild.

I’m enjoying your new videos, Jason. I don’t people have been going over to YouTube and reading the description where it clearly states that charlie teh unicron is an independent video. Keep up the good work.

Urza – The “this is not your best work” comment is very annoying.
When you create a lot of -anything- for a large audience there are going to be peaks and lulls in how certain parts of your audience reacts to each new thing. When I create a short video like “Pony Brigade” or “unicron” I’m not thinking “THIS IS GOING TO BE MY #1 VIDEO EVER”, I’m thinking “I really like this idea, lets hope other people do too.”
And they do. I’ve gotten “This is my favorite video of yours!” comments on both the pony video and the unicron video, and the Like / Dislike ratio is about as good as anything else I’ve ever made. Are they my “best” work ever? I don’t think so, but who the hell cares?
You’re not going to like everything I make, and that’s fine. Some of my audience likes all of my videos and others only like one or two. But please, the “This isn’t your best work” comments provide zero helpful criticism.
so is this video the charlie the unicorn four you were talking about or is it just a remake of charlie the unicorn 1? because there are alot of similarities to this one and the 1st one. i personally find this the best charlie the unicorn. the blue and pink unicorns sound alot like the gay old man from family guy to me. And is the one unicorn blue or purple in the first 3 videos because there has been much dispute about that amongst my friends and i.

The blue unicorn is blue, although it’s a dark blue that can look purple on some displays.

Steve’s comment is my sentiment as well, sorta. This cartoon really demonstrates the sheer amount of labor that goes into the original Charlie series. Each of the charlie cartoons is 5 times longer than ‘teh unicron,’ and the originals have shading, incredibly detailed and tremendously layered backgrounds, clever writing, and full on musical production including all original lyrics and music. Plus the newer ones have awesome special effects too.
Watch the 1 minute ‘Unicron’ short and then the last 90 seconds of Charlie 3. I think ‘Unicron’ is quite funny, (I laugh my ass off when pink unicorn laughs in the dialog, almost by accident and out of character,) but I think the deeper meaning of this short is to illustrate to Jason’s fans that when he puts out stuff as fast as we demand it’s not going to be up to par with his works to date.
Every cartoon Jason Steele provides us is a gift, and yet day in and day out we disrespectfully comment on his posts and email him constantly demanding more ‘Charlie the Unicorn’ or ‘where’s this or that you promised’ or ‘this is isn’t your best work.’ It’s as if we’re saying, “thanks for spending the past several weeks making this… but it’s sh*t… and I don’t know why you even try.” Not sure why you want to bite the hand that feeds you.
I love FilmCow, I love all your “good” cartoons” and your “not your best” cartoons” just the same… no matter how much time is in between them. (And I absolutely adore your live action stuff as well.)
But what do I know, I’m just an obsessed FilmCow fan that wears Charlie the Unicorn perfume and bought FilmCow DVD’s for all my friends and family for Xmas.

Ok, I agree with Alicia. People need to stop be b*tches to Jason just cause he wants to put effort into his work. And even if he isn’t working on a video, the man deserves a freaking break once in a while. He has a right to a personal life. I’m sure that spending 24/7 staring into a computer screen isn’t exactly what you would want to do either. I really enjoyed this one! I love how their personalities were reversed. Charlie was calm and peaceful, while the pink and blue unicorns were hateful and unyielding in their cruelty. Keep up the marvelous work, Mr. Steele.

Next to watching Jonathan I. Mathers’ work, I love all of the videos. It takes a lot of time an imagination (unless you’re on drugs) to come up with new material on a regular basis. When I was first shown this, I thought, “Wow, what a crappy homage to Charlie the Unicorn.” Then I realized it was actually done by Jason, and it became an awesome parody. And the whole Ponita thing is great. I pointed out to my son how fat Taft is, and I told him about a story I’d read about where he got stuck in a bathtub. But I digress.
I can’t wait for Charlie 4 and the next Llamas. They’re both replayed and quoted continuously in my household. Keep up the good work.

@Desss. 1. No Idea how I came up with the name. 2. It was a one foot in diameter turtle. 3. The swans just don’t seem to like me. I was attacked by the same swan at my friends house twice, both times I was fishing. Then at the zoo, I was crossing the bridge and the swan almost pulled me in. I sprinted across the bridge in half a second.
