Your weekly update…

Posted by Jason Steele | Sunday 14 June 2009 7:50 pm

Hey everyone, sorry again about the delay with Gods of Olympus. My right hand has been giving me problems this past week and it’s severely limited the amount of work I’ve been able to get done each day. I’m seeing a doctor about it tomorrow, hopefully he won’t make me take my pants off like he did last time.

Good news though – the FilmCow DVD is coming along great, in fact we filmed some stuff for it on Friday and I really think this is going to be a cool disk when it’s finished. Well worth the seven hundred dollars we’re going to charge for it.

Oh, and how about those protests in Iran? It sort of makes me wish there was something I was passionate enough about to set a motorcycle on fire for. Then again I’ve never really needed an excuse to set things on fire.

    You spelt ‘disc’ wrong.

  5. Comment by Jason Williams — June 14, 2009 @ 8:50 pm

I could crack a joke about why your right hand is hurting, but it would be too mean.
Hope you get better soon Jason.

  6. Comment by Jason Steele — June 14, 2009 @ 8:58 pm

LostOverThere – both disk and disc are correct spellings.

  7. Comment by Eric — June 14, 2009 @ 8:58 pm

    i hope everything’s ok, Jason.

  8. Comment by LostOverThere — June 14, 2009 @ 9:22 pm

Nopezors, there’s a difference. Disc refers to optical medium, such as a DVD or CD. Whereas disk refers magnetic media, such as a floppy disk.

Why I am arguing this I do not know. Good day sir.

If this doesn’t get finished could you post the unfinished clips up to the blog?

WHO CARES ABOUT THE SPELLING OF DISK!?!?!?!?!?!?! Do you guys want to make me cry? Keep pointing crap out to make your self look smart and I will… *sniff*

  12. Comment by Jason Steele — June 14, 2009 @ 11:09 pm

LostOverThere – that isn’t correct. Both disk and disc can refer to DVDs, or any optical media. Most technology companies use disc for optical and disk for magnetic, but it’s not an “official” grammatical rule, it’s simply the more common usage.

  13. Comment by Doijj — June 15, 2009 @ 1:11 am

    I spell it disque :)

  14. Comment by Jason Williams — June 15, 2009 @ 5:39 am

Haha, a hot debate over the spelling of disc. How amusing.

  15. Comment by LostOverThere — June 15, 2009 @ 5:45 am

Oh, on a double check it seems you are correct.

Also, fall, I was just messing around. I’m not seriously going to have a fit over a minor grammatical ‘error’. :-)

Jason, you should make a recreation of that photo with you as the guy

700 dollars is a bit pricey, can you lower it to 699.99?

And do you have any pictures of last time?

  17. Comment by John Lennon — June 15, 2009 @ 9:15 am

    disk is D-I-S-K not D-I-S-C

  18. Comment by Jason Steele — June 15, 2009 @ 9:23 am

You’re late to THE GREAT DISK/C DEBATE, John. Both spellings are correct.

  19. Comment by SR — June 15, 2009 @ 10:56 am

    BACK ON TOPIC:

Jason- When do you now plan to release Gods of Olypus? How about the DVD? Please get back to me or post an update.

    OFF THE TOPIC:

Everyone- In the Random House College Dictionary, the word disc simply refers to the word disk. And, the word disk means: 1. any flat, thin, circular plate or object 2. and surface that is flat and round 3. a phonograph record.

So, Jason was right that both spellings are correct. They both mean the same exact thing. THE GREAT DISK/C DEBATE HAS BEEN TERMINATED.

Why the hell do you have to take off your pants when you are seeing a doctor about your hand (or am I just missing something here)?

  23. Comment by Christopher J Kowalski — June 15, 2009 @ 2:48 pm

Snakes Alive! That’s pretty sweet, hope your hand feels better and hope Gods of Olympus turns out as good as you say it is. Oh i sent you another email the other day, thought you should know. Hope all goes well with you.

It’s green in support of the Iranian youth who are currently protesting their stolen election.
